Hardly more than a village, Trappe is filled with white painted houses, wide front porches, tree-lined streets, churches, and has one main crossroad. Known by the locals as a place of quiet elegance, Trappe is a charming and historic town rich in history, hunting, farming, fishing, and rolling topography. This is one of those sweet local gems that is easy to miss but hard to forget. If you take the time to explore the local area, you will find family-owned antique shops and bookstores filled with character. Trappe was once the home of the late Robert Mitchum, who spent many days enjoying the recreational activities the area has to offer.
